i know you won't believe me when i tell you this, but i have actually worked(so called) in a hospital before. no really, i not kidding! i worked in Changi General Hospital during the december holidays of 2010. unfortunately, i did not get paid for my effort, because it was voluntarily(yeah right, is my mother force me do one)and so it was actually all for nothing.anyway something happened there and i am still scared of it happening again.on the 15 of December at around 4.30 in the evening, i was bringing the laundry to the lower level of the hospital where they washed the clothes, when i went in, unfortunately, the door somehow locked itself and so you can guess what was going on. i was locked in a room that was below the ground which meant that i would have a limited supply of oxygen and it was dark and damp, don't forget creepy. and so i panicked, did i mention i am a little bit claustrophobic? so there and then, i was at a total loss at what to do for the first time in my life. i decided that panicking in this stupid room would d me no good, so i sat down to calm myself for a minute. i decided to check if the door as really locked and i tried to open the door, but it would not budge.so i sat down again and i decided that this time i would wait for someone to find me.it was only after an hour that i remembered that the vents were all connected in the hospital and so i shouted out for help and hoped that someone would hear me. thankfully, a few minutes later(about 10 minutes) i heard footsteps approaching the door and i found my best friend opening the door.and you know what? it turns out that the door was not locked but just that i did not turn the handle far enough stupid right? ha ha ha ha!!but to this day forward i am still a little scared of tiny spaces and hospitals.even though they save many lifes here, i would prefer to stay away from all kinds of hospitals.Thursday, January 27, 2011
a problem i encountered and how i solved or managed it

something that took place in school
on the 23rd of march 2009, something weird happened in Fengshan Primary School.(i still remember this because i wrote it down in my diary)the day had gone uneventful at first, like it would any other school day.the class was listening to the teacher drone on about factors and all that really intellectual stuff. while some members of the class were atcually listening to the teacher , i on the other hand, was looking out of the window at the physical education lesson going on at the ground floor. suddenly out of the corner of my eye, i saw a blanket of darkness swoop down near the lesson(not mine, the PE lesson). i looked over to my left with the tiniest amount of movement possible
and i saw that it was just a bird but at that time i did not know that what i had seen was actually a crow, so at that time it was unknown to me and it looked like a monster from another planet to me with its beady eyes and sharp talon-like claws, you might imagine how it looked like right? yeah anyway the crow looked at me with its beady eyes for a moment and i could have sworn it's eyes were deep red. but then it just suddenly flew off towards the PE lesson below and you know what it did? while the teacher was teaching the class how to play floorball, it just flew into the lesson uninvited and flew ofv with one of the balls! i didn't realise that some of my class mates had also noticed it and were having one of those OMG looks on their faces. but that wasn't the end of it, because the crow did something more aggresive next it flew up to one of the classes next to us, io think it was 6B and actually threw the ball inside the classroom, we heard screams and thought someone had got hit but it turns out it was just one of my friends had screamed when the ball landed in front of hr because she didn't really notice the crow until it had trhrown the ball towrds her fac, but luckily she ducked just in time but not before emittiung a high pitched scream. that was officially one of the weirdest day in the history of my school life

a moment spent alone doing something i enjoyed
on the 12 of december, 2010, my family and i had decided that we would go to the serangoon jetty to go fishing but my sister suddenly told us a day before the intended trip that she had a course on that day and that one of my parents had to go with her.well, surely you could tell that i was at first dismayed at that piece of news. but luckily, my father knew how much i enjoyed fishing at the serangoon jetty because i could catch crabs as welll as fish there as well, so he agreed that i could go with him and my second elder sister.the next day, me and my father, along with y second eldest sister went to serangoon jetty. my sister and father set up the tent while i started preparing the baits , fishing rods and other things necessary for fishing.it was about 2 in the afternoon and the sun was blazing like fire over our heads. my father and sister both rented a bike each and cycled aro
und, leaving me all alone on the jetty, there were some pretty weird things going on like that. i mean how does someone fish while lying down on his back? but suddenly there was something biting on the rod of the guy next to me and the whole rod bend until it
touched the railing and the guy holding it looked like he was having trouble reeling it in, so i went to help him.OMG!!!it was the biggest fish i had caught!(or helped to catch)it was a stingray and it was bigger thatn my head. thankfully the guy allowed me to take a picture of it and here, i'll show it to you. see? it's big right? i thought it was cruel to hold the fish by the gills but hey it is his fish. i went back to my own fishing and i was determined to catch a fish to show my sister( she taunted me that i would not be able to catch a fish). suddenly out of nowhere, both rods i was looking after suddenly bend like at a 30 degree angle(estimating only) and i wasn't sure of what to do. i was like so panicked, but eventually i decided to go with the second rod first because it looked
like it was about to break. unfortunately as i was about to pull it up, the line broke and it escaped.i was determined to catch the second fish and so began to carefully reel him in, the line was so taut that i was sure that the line would break.but lad luck was on my side, i managed to reel him in and here he is yes i know my rod is small but at least i caught a fish right? my sister ad father soon returned and i showed them the fish with pride. for the rest f the day we caught 6 more fishes but we released them all because we did not want to kill them(i am not a murderer). but i would always remember the first fish i ever caught. and to this day i still remember the moment spent alone doing something i enjoyed because of that little fish.

something unusual that happened that day
on the 17th of december, i went to tampines with a few of my primary school friends to watch a movie.we were going out because it was a kind of reunion outing and it was my birthday as well. as it happened, a stroke of luck happened to hit us on that day as well. the hottest show in the world was premiering on that day as well, and so we had to book our tickets beforehand. i'm sure you know what the show is, if you don't, you must be living under
a stone! yup. you got it! harry potter and the deathly hallows. we were all diehard harry potter fans and we couldn't believe ourselves when we heard that we were going to see the last episode

of the series. you might be wondering why i was so surprised when i was the one buying the tickets. wrong, my parents bought the tickets, not me.anyway that's not the unusual thing that happened that day. this is just the introduction. anyway around 2.35 like that, we went up to watch the movie and you could see that every single one of us was bouncing up and down with excitement , and there were many people like us too. all of a sudden, as if out of nowhere, an old lady of about 60 appeared and grabbed my friend by the wrist, and started saying stuff that i couldn't really hear clearly, because it was too noisy, but from what i gathered, the old lady thought that my friend was her son.at first my friend was like so freaked out(you would too if an old lady walks up to you and asks you to go home with her to study), my friend politely tried to tell the lady that he was not her son, but the lady insisted that he was. out of desperation, my friend twisted his arm out of her grip and ran away, i started to follow him but the lady now grabbed me and i could tell from her look that she thought i was her son. so i just did what my friend did and ran towards him too. we didn't see the lady throughout the movie but we kept a watchful eye out for her, around 5, we saw her again, but this time she had two young women beside her, scared that she had offended someone , i rushed to the lady and i found out from one of the women beside her what was going on. apparently the lady had lost her son in the war during the Japanese occupation and she was so traumatized by the fact that she was now emotionally and mentally scarred for life. now sadly, she lives in her own world and thinks that every small boy is her son. i really pity her and i wonder what has happened to her now.

A special moment with my family
On the 11 of December, 2009,my family and i had gone to China for the holidays. my parents were very stressed at that time, and so was my eldest sister, because she was anxious about her O level results.thus we all decided that a family outing overseas would do us some good, besides,we didn't go overseas as frequently as other people like my friend did. we went during the December holidays because i had never seen snow in my whole existance.well, not real snow anyway. we went to Beijing first and
i saw the Great wall of china for the first time

even though i kept falling down, i finally got the hang of it in the end. soon i was beginning to catch up to my sister in the level of skills and we all agreed that when it was time to go we would have a little race. during the race, we tried the steepest hill so that we would have a little taste at what skiing was like at a very fast speed.the feeling of it is indescribable, it's like you think you're going fast but you can still see every little detail.i remember i almost ran into a squirrel in the snow, luckily it heard me coming and got out of the way in the nick of time. i ended up as second place while my second eldest sister ended up with a face full of snow. when i saw her, i almost died of laughter right there she looked like a snow man coming alive.unfortunately for you, we didn't take any pictures of it or i would have shown it to you.as the day ended,i knew with a small amount of certainty that in that insignificant amount in space and time, my family and i had no doubt in our minds that we all had shared something really special.
i saw the Great wall of china for the first timein my life.i was astounded by the sheer colossal size of this ancient

monument. it was so vast that i could actually believe that this ancient architecture could be seen from space. it is impossible to describe how massive this thing was ,i mean,2000 elephants could fit the space that i had walked on, and i probably only walked about one hundredth of it. as i walked, i thought of the many people who had sacrificed themselves for the building of this monument. as to this day i am still amazed that it is able to stay in such a good condition, yes t
here have been minor renovations on it, but the fact that every aspect of it is able to be seen clearly is the most stupendous thing i can think of. as the sun set over the horizon, we all sat down to reflect upon the true meaning of life.i went skiing for the first time in my life and i was so excited by the thought of it that yo0u would have thought i'd just drank a whole planet of joy.
